One of the most common questions we hear from Faridabad parents is simple: "Which class should my child be in?" Age criteria can vary slightly between schools, but here's the standard ladder most preschools — including Little Pathshala — follow.
Play Group (1.5 – 2.5 years)
Your child's very first step away from home. Play Group is all about settling in, sensory play, early language and making those first little friendships in a safe, loving space.
Pre-Nursery (2 – 3 years)
A confident step ahead. Children begin following simple instructions, building vocabulary, and exploring early concepts like colours, shapes and counting through play.
Nursery (3 – 4 years)
This is where little thinkers emerge. Children recognise letters and sounds, count with meaning, build short stories, and grow their independence and confidence.
LKG / Lower Kindergarten (4 – 5 years)
School readiness begins in earnest. LKG strengthens reading and writing in Hindi and English, introduces bigger maths ideas, and develops focus and life skills.
UKG / Upper Kindergarten (5 – 6 years)
The final stepping stone before "big school". UKG blends STEAM learning, confident reading and writing, and numbers up to 200 — setting children up to thrive in Class 1.
What if my child is on the borderline?
Age is a guide, not a rule. Every child develops at their own pace. The best approach is to talk to the school and, ideally, let your child attend a trial class so teachers can recommend the right fit.
Admissions for the 2026-27 session are open at Little Pathshala, Sector 91, Faridabad. Get in touch and we'll help you choose the perfect class for your child.
